Dirty Work accumulates and lingers long after the work has been done. Cleaning, sweeping, picking, and primping are all of my attempts to domesticate the wild and scrub it clean, yet the more I clean, the more grit and work accumulates. In the display of this page I have attempted to mimic these works' installation, with the performance and memory of labor (Narcissus and Achilles) displayed in relationship to the remnant objects of my work.
A performance and necessity, rooting out selfishness and cleansing the world of wildness, tidying nature neatly to fade and display on a shelf.
Beneath my heels the dirt collects, where I wish only its dusty memory would instead remain.
