Left Over

Left Over

Left Over (2013) is a document of an installation in a found location composed of a found abandoned household stove and odds and ends. The stove stands in for a hearth, a center, left behind in an otherwise empty structural skeleton.

Inside and Out is a combined collection of video, performance, and installation works I created between 2013 and 2014. While each work is distinct, all explore the relationships between nature and domestic space, tools and creation, and the dichotomy of being in versus being out.

Made Home

Made Home (2013) is a chance meeting of lace to adorn an empty, abandoned home of a place.

Domestic Encounters

Domestic Encounters (2014), shown as an installation view and detail (right). The photograph in the upper left mirrors the objects in the room, creating both a fantasy and document of the space. The other photographs, mundane moments of daily life, open up as present sites and memories to refocus upon.

Baptism

Baptism (2013) releases the image of the Virgin, Marilyn, and Disney Princesses into a murky, dirty, life filled soup denying pure representation.

Clarification

Clarification

Clarification (2013) is an attempt to keep clean while surrounded by the muddy reality of work, tools, and dirtiness. This is an installation view.

Under

Under

Under (2013) evokes a well worn bed sheltering whatever may have grown beneath its covers in the earth.

Home Health

Home Health

Home Health is a collection of remedies and memories - objects in a home that may help you rest, grow, and recover.

New Homes is the working title for sculptures that I am currently in the progress of making. These images combine photography of the sculptures with digital rendering and collage to suggest what each sculpture will eventually become. In this series, I am exploring what it means to build a structure, filling or constructing each with objects that start to compose the meaning of a home.

Toolshed

Toolshed

Toolshed contains tools that can dangerously, magically nourish the body to help it grow.

Cast / Caught

Cast / Caught

Cast / Caught is a delicate balance between shelter and snare.
