Santa Fe Stew
Santa Fe Stew is something about as close to an heirloom recipe as my family has. My grandmother clipped it long ago from a newspaper in Denver and eventually gave this recipe to my mother. It the chili was in our biweekly of stews, casserole, and pasta.
Equal parts black beans, navy beans or lima beans, and kidney beans. One onion sauteed with neutral oil, add ground beef (or turkey) and cook until browned. Add one can diced tomatoes. The recipe calls for one packet of taco seasoning and one packet of Ranch Dressing dried seasoning. Add all these to a crockpot, top with water, and cook throughout the day. Top with cheddar and perhaps sour cream and parsley.
